Our People

Honoring Women's Equality Day

As we observe Women's Equality Day, we asked members of Alkermes' Women Inspired Network (WIN), our Employee Resource Group dedicated to advocating for a workplace that supports and develops all individuals, regardless of gender, to share their thoughts as we mark this celebration.

Rhonda Ezell, Senior Director, Quality, commented: "In my 30+ years of working in industry, specifically manufacturing, I have seen the landscape and culture of acceptance for women changing to be more positive. Making the workplace more inclusive has added new perspectives to increase collaboration and develop and retain talented team members. Society still has a long way to go to ensure that women are represented at the highest levels of leadership, but I am encouraged that we are on our way. I am proud to celebrate Women’s Equality Day and hope that in the future, every day will be an Equality Day. "

Colette Ryan, Senior Director, Operations, reflects: "Women’s Equality Day celebrates the achievements of women’s rights activists and is also a reminder of the unique daily struggles that women continue to face, for example the unequal representation of women and women of color in many facets of life, including the workplace. These inequities underscore the importance of fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and equitable workplace culture which can help break down barriers that women face at work. I’m proud to be part of Alkermes' WIN Employee Resource Group which provides a platform to champion and advocate for equitable practices for women and women of color across our organization."

Andrea Dacayanan, Associate Director, Project Management, shared: "Society has come a long way since the 1920’s when women were granted the right to vote in the United States. There is still work to be done to cultivate an environment where barriers are broken in order for women to overcome discrimination and bias, and an acknowledgement is the first step. As co-lead of WIN at Alkermes, I celebrate Women’s Equality Day and recognize the many strong allies that we have, championing women’s accomplishments, and advocating for women to be heard and thrive."
