Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

The strength of Alkermes' culture is the work environment we cultivate among employees. It is based on effective collaboration, respect for each unique voice, and an unwavering commitment to our patients. We know that one way to foster this environment is to strengthen the sense of belonging among all of our employees.

We’ve done this by establishing a global Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Steering Committee, comprised of representatives from all of our locations (including field-based employees), focused on creating connections, fostering conversations, and helping to support alignment of our efforts across the range of perspectives within our organization. We have collaborated with our employees to create five employee resource groups (ERGs), that reflect our diversity across many domains: Limitless, a network to support people impacted by disability or illness; MOSAIC, a multicultural network; Operation Salute, a network to support active duty military members, veterans and their families; Pride@Work, an LGBTQ+ and allies network; and Women Inspired Network (WIN), a women’s network. These ERGs, which are open to all employees, share a common purpose of supporting and enhancing the inclusiveness of our company culture and providing opportunities for professional development, networking, learning and building deeper connections within Alkermes.

Employee-Led Steering Committee

The DIB Steering Committee is an employee-led group that provides perspectives and insights regarding:

  • The organization’s efforts to build and maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Strategies and actions to help promote belonging and collaboration among all employees
  • The successful operation of Employee Resource Groups

DIB Executive Committee

The DIB Executive Committee consists of senior leaders at Alkermes and provides guidance, feedback and recommendations on our overall diversity, inclusion and belonging efforts. The committee is tasked with:

  • Establishing the vision for what inclusion, diversity and belonging priorities look like at Alkermes
  • Facilitating implementation of key internal operating practices and policies that promote a welcoming, inclusive culture that respects individual differences, backgrounds and experiences
  • Championing and modeling desired leadership behaviors

Employee Resource Groups

Alkermes’ Employee Resource Groups are voluntary, employee-led groups that seek to foster an inclusive environment based on shared experiences, goals and values. Our ERGs — Limitless, MOSAIC, Operation Salute, Pride@Work and Women Inspired Network (WIN) — provide opportunities for employees to celebrate differences, raise awareness about important issues and collaborate with team members from across the organization on programs and events that are designed to enhance understanding of a wide range of topics that are of importance to our employees. All employees are welcome to participate in any and all ERGs and the activities they sponsor.
