Lindsay Balram, Associate Director, Global Travel and Expense, works hard to empower her fellow employees with strategies for offering support to those impacted by disability. “It’s important to be compassionate and understanding when people share personal - and at times vulnerable - topics,” said Balram. “It is helpful to respect boundaries, show up as allies, and champion the concept that we are all wonderful in our own ways.”

Anne-Marie Kelly, Associate Director, Compliance Training, recognizes the power that comes with being one’s authentic self both in and outside of work. “Reach for the stars and try not to let anything hold you back. Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid of being different,” said Kelly. “If you feel comfortable sharing your experiences, it might help others to learn along with you.”

Jessica Tamborski, Associate Director, Finance, understands that learning and sharing the history of the disability community can lay the foundation for future efforts. “I would encourage people to learn more about disability rights, especially the long history before the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed in 1990,” said Tamborski. “It’s a great way to appreciate the progress that has been made and the contributions of some amazing leaders in the movement.”
