Team Alkermes volunteers recently took part in our 16th annual “Alkermes in Action” employee-led volunteer program. This day of service is a tangible demonstration of our team’s commitment to making a real impact in the communities where we live and work. Beyond our day-to-day mission to pursue great science on behalf of people living with complex neurological conditions, we recognize that we have the opportunity to support local organizations whose values align with ours and share our dedication to making the world a better place.
This year, nearly 250 volunteers from our Waltham office supported a dozen organizations in the Greater Boston area. Employees rolled up their sleeves and assembled beds for children in need, braved the heat to work on local farms, built a sensory board in celebration of Disability Pride Month among many more activities. Working in partnership with The Dimock Center, Casa Myrna, Trustees of Reservations, Mass Audubon, Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Dignity Matters, Room to Grow, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Pine Street Inn, Community Servings, Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Victory Programs, our team members were able to help provide meaningful support to groups making a difference in the lives of people in need across Massachusetts.
At Alkermes, we are deeply committed to the idea that corporations can make a positive difference in society, and Alkermes in Action is one way Team Alkermes brings this belief to life every year. Thanks to all who participated this year.
